How to Get Email on Your Blackberry®

There are essentially 3 ways to get your email on your Blackberry®

1. POP and IMAP Email
2. Email Forwarding
3. Blackberry®Enterprise Server (BES)

1. POP and IMAP Email

If you use POP mail on your blackberry you are effectively downloading the emails from your mailbox on the server to your blackberry device. They will therefore NOT be available when you next download your email to your desktop computer.

Therefore we recommend using IMAP to view and reply to messages that are currently in your mailbox. Essentially this is like using Webmail. Then when you get back to your main workstation your can download the messages to clean out the mailbox on the server.

2. Email Forwarding

This is the simplest method just forward a copy of your emails to your blackberry.net email account.

The downside is all your spam will also be forwarded and your will have to delete it twice.

3. Blackberry® Enterprise Server (BES)

BES gives you true Push Mail to your Blackberry® device. In combination with your Hosted Exchange account your email, calander and contacts are synchronized on your Webmail, Outlook and Blackberry® automatically, reducing time spent duplicating email management.
