Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 for Windows
Creating a new email account
Please follow the instructions below. Make sure your settings
match those in the pictures and your email should be up and running
very quickly. (Obviously replace "username" with
your user name and "yourdomain.com" with your actual
domain name.)
1. From the Tools pull-down menu select the Account Settings ... Option

2. Click on the Add Account... button in the bottom-left of the window ...
3. The Account Wizard will open.
Select the Email account radio button
and click on Next >

4. Enter your full name in the Your Name: box and email address in the Email address: box and click
on Next >

5. The incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Enter yourdomain.com into both the Incoming Server: and the Outgoing
Server: boxes. The domain is everything after the '@' symbol in your email address.
Click on Next >

6. Enter your username in to the Incoming User Name: box
Click on Next >
7. Enter an account name in the Account Name field. This is only used within Thunderbird to distinguish between various email accounts that you may have setup. The default should be fine. Click on Next > then click on Finish on the summary page.
8. Next, you need to ensure that 2 of the settings are correct, so follow the instructions below. Failure to follow
these instructions accounts for 90% of all the support calls
we receive.
Select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) item at the bottom of the list on the left. Then, click on the Edit... button on the right.
9. Change
the Outgoing Server (SMTP): to 5190.
Why?? Many ISP's have started to block the relaying of email through the default port 25. Using this alternative port allows you to send email via your Radical Webs email account. This setting accounts for almost 90% of all support calls so please make sure you have yours set correctly.
Also, make sure that the checkbox for Use name and password under the Security and Authentication section IS CHECKED!

10. Click on Ok, then Ok again to close the Account Settings window.
11. Click on the Get Mail button and you should receive any
email waiting in your mail box.
