Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2007 for Windows

Editing or Changing your E-mail Settings

If you have changed your password in your Webmail or Hosting Control Panel. Or you just want to change your settings, here is a simple guide to point you in the right direction.

1. From the Tools pull-down menu select the Accounts Settings... Option

2. Select the account you want to edit and then click on the Change... button

3. Settings here are the same as when you created the mailbox.

NOTE: Your Username and Password are CASE SeNsItIvE!!!

4. Click on the More Settings... Button to make more changes or click on Next > if you have finished.

5. The General Tab. Give this email account a name that will help you identify it in your email account list later. The Organization and Reply to Email fields are optional.

When you have completed this step click on the Outgoing Server Tab

6. IMPORTANT!!! The check box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication should checked and the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option should be selected.

When completed click on the Advanced Tab

7. IMPORTANT!!! Change the Outgoing Server (SMTP): to 5190 and click on OK.

Why?? Many ISP's have started to block the relaying of email through the default port 25. Using this alternative port allows you to send email via your Radical Webs email account. This setting accounts for almost 90% of all support calls so please make sure you have yours set correctly.

Note: Your incoming server should be set to 110.

If you choose to Leave a copy of messages on the server, we recommend selecting 5 days or less.

8. You should now be back to the Add New E-mail Account window. Simply click on the Next > button.

NOTE: DO NOT USE THE TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS... BUTTON AS IT DOES NOT WORK WITH ALTERNATE SMTP PORTS SUCH AS 5190

9. Click on the Finish button.

10. Congratulations! Click on the Close button.

11. The moment of truth ... Click on the Send/Receive Button. Outlook should connect to the mail server and try to Send and Receive email. If you do not get an error message then your email is working correctly.
